ATLANTA, GA November 22, 2022 – It was announced that Kyli Santiago's debut poetry book, Healing Yesterday's Tears, has been named an AWARD-WINNING FINALIST in the ‘Self Help’ category of the 2022 AMERICAN WRITING AWARDS, an all-inclusive award competition that celebrates and recognizes authors and publishers throughout the world.

American Writing Awards is a unique global contest as it offers small presses, academic presses, micro presses, self-publishers, and “Big 5″ publishers and authors a chance to compete in the same arena for the same prize. Their team of expert judges, which include Industry Professionals, Authors, College Professors, fairly and competently assesses all entries based on multiple writing skills such as story-telling ability, transitions, pacing, character development, and overall impact.

As an honored finalist in this year’s contest, Santiago’s award-winning book Healing Yesterday’s Tears, aims to raise awareness about poetry’s healing power and its use as an effective self-help tool. Having experienced depression as a child and as an adult, Santiago found the true healing power of poetry when she began writing poetry as a therapeutic release.
